Could encryption become harder to access after power loss?

Yes. Power loss can change an accessible device into one protected by full encryption and a fresh authentication requirement.

Evidential caution: that if a device is open now, it can always be reopened later. Encryption keys may be available only while the device is running and properly authenticated.

What this means

When a device is powered off or restarted, those keys may no longer remain available in memory. The next start may require the full passcode, password or recovery process rather than a biometric shortcut.
