Could isolation affect location, time or synchronisation records?

Yes. Isolation can change the records a device creates about location, time and synchronisation.

Evidential caution: that disconnecting a device only stops communication. It may also interrupt network time, cloud sync, location updates, device management and application activity.

What this means

A device may stop receiving accurate network time and continue using its internal clock.

Location services may lose access to mobile, Wi-Fi or network-assisted data, although some location functions may continue.

Cloud applications may record failed synchronisation, delayed uploads or connection loss.

Messaging and account services may queue activity until the device reconnects, creating a later burst of records.

Isolation may also affect how applications display “last seen”, online status or recent activity.

Before isolation, record the visible time, time zone, connection state and any location or synchronisation indicators.

After isolation, record any immediate change, such as loss of signal, offline banners, paused uploads or altered timestamps.

A file created locally while offline may receive a different server timestamp when it later uploads.
