Could a message request change when opened?¶

Yes. Opening can mark it seen, move it into the inbox, remove warnings and expose presence or profile information to the sender.

Preserve the pending state¶

Record service, account, request list, sender handle, preview, time, attachment and filtering label. Capture the full screen before access.

The request may gain read receipts, typing indicators or loaded content after opening. Even without visible change, the provider may log the event.

Open only for a defined need¶

Threat or safeguarding assessment may justify access. Record who opened it, why, when and every status, notification or location change in the conversation.

Do not infer sender identity from the profile alone. Preserve the original request classification because it may be impossible to recreate.
