Could reconnecting a messaging device trigger synchronisation?¶

Yes. Reconnection can immediately fetch, upload, edit, delete and reorder content and update receipts, presence and linked-device state.

Preserve the offline view¶

Record screen, application, account, messages, battery and connections. Capture drafts, pending items, failed uploads, offline banners and warnings.

The local display may be stale. Items appearing after reconnection may have been delayed, while visible content can disappear through queued deletion.

Treat reconnection as an event¶

Consider provider preservation or specialist capture first. If required, use a controlled network and record time, method and connection.

Capture immediately before and after, including receipts, alerts, session changes and remote commands. Do not reconnect merely to see what happens.
