Could blocking an account alter the evidence?¶

Yes. Blocking can change profile visibility, delivery, conversation access, group relationships and provider records and may indirectly alert the other user.

Preserve the relationship first¶

Record exact profile and account identifiers, conversation, messages, activity, shared groups, following status, calls and timestamps. A profile may be harder to locate afterwards.

Define the harm being addressed. Harassment or safeguarding may justify urgent blocking, while suspicion alone does not require immediate change.

Record scope and result¶

Establish whether blocking affects direct contact, groups, comments or linked services. Record authority, operator, time, warning and resulting account state.

Blocking may prompt migration or deletion and does not prove account ownership or remove every route.
