Could opening a shared document create a viewing record?¶

Yes. Providers may log account, session, device, network and time and show presence or recent-view activity to collaborators.

Preserve sharing before access¶

Record file, owner, object ID, link, permissions, timestamps, current account and whether the item is listed, previewed, cached or already open.

Consider provider records or specialist capture rather than opening merely to test relevance.

Record the viewing event¶

If access is justified, capture authority, operator, account, device, network, exact time and view, comment or edit mode. Preserve presence icons, alerts and recent-activity changes.

Shared or delegated account labels do not prove which person viewed earlier or now.
