What can a group administrator do?¶
An administrator holds service-defined management capability, which may include membership, invitations, roles, posting restrictions, profile changes or moderation. Capability does not prove that the account exercised it or bears responsibility for every post.
Define the historical permission¶
Powers differ by product and role. Preserve the stable administrator and group IDs, role label, permission scope, appointment and removal times and the platform definition. An administrator may have been appointed later, share control or receive the role automatically.
Look for actual management events¶
System notices, audit logs, provider or device records may show member additions and removals, link creation, role assignment, setting changes and content moderation. Link each action to its account, session and time.
Report that an account held administrative rights separately from evidence it used a particular control. Administrator status does not establish authorship of another member's message, awareness of all content or endorsement of purpose.
Multiple administrators further require action-by-action attribution rather than collective assumptions.
The point to remember
Treat administrator status as available authority and prove its exercise through historical role and action records.
