Can one person use several mobile devices?¶
Yes. Personal, work, spare and specialist devices can divide or synchronise one person's activity across phones, tablets, watches and computers.
One event can leave records on several devices¶
A message begun on a phone may appear on a tablet; a watch can display a notification; photographs may upload to a cloud account; linked devices may handle calls. Different devices can also hold distinct parts of one enquiry - account access on one, location or media on another.
Shared accounts mean a copy appearing on several devices may derive from one provider event rather than several independent actions.
Map devices by time and function¶
Use hardware identifiers, trusted-device and login records, subscriptions, pairings, Wi-Fi, purchase and possession to show which items were linked during the relevant period. Identify which device created, received, cached or merely displayed each artefact.
Multiple devices are ordinary and not evidence of concealment by themselves. Old, sold, shared, lost or remotely accessed items can remain on account lists, so account linkage still needs evidence of actual use.
