What is the difference between the device account and an individual app account?¶
The device account manages the operating-system ecosystem; each app account identifies a particular service. They can belong to different people and produce records with different providers.
Map the account layers¶
The device provider may hold backups, trusted devices and synchronisation. Messaging, banking or social providers hold their own registration, content and sessions. A shared tablet or managed phone can combine household, employer and personal identities.
Attribute each relevant event¶
Record provider IDs, recovery links, sessions and devices for every account. One Apple or Google identity does not identify every app user, and an app account does not identify the cloud-backup controller.
