Does a cloud backup contain everything from the device?¶

No. A cloud backup is a selective, time-specific restoration source rather than a forensic duplicate of the handset.

Inclusion depends on configuration¶

Operating system, storage allowance, user settings and app design determine what is captured. Photographs, email and contacts may synchronise through separate services; caches, security material and some app data may be excluded. Failed or interrupted backups add gaps.

Presence and absence both need context¶

Anything created after the last successful run is absent, while an older backup may retain deleted material. Restoration can place content from a previous handset onto a replacement, so presence does not prove local origin.

Record source device, account, enabled categories, completion time and restore history. Compare the backup with handset, provider and separate synchronisation records.
