Mobile Devices & Apps Technical Explainer

Can messages be sent automatically?

Yes. Scheduled messages, alerts, chatbots, bulk systems, application workflows and compromised accounts can dispatch content without someone pressing send at that moment.

Identify the sending mechanism

Look for schedules, rules, templates, bots, APIs, web sessions and provider events. Device-use and drafting records may distinguish live composition from earlier configuration or automation. Personalised wording can still be generated from stored data.

Separate configuration from dispatch

One person may have set the automation earlier while another controlled the account or system later. Establish account, session, trigger and timing before attributing immediate action or intent.

Automation is a testable explanation, not a generic alternative to inconvenient evidence.

Key takeaway

Prove how a message was generated and triggered before treating its send time as a moment of deliberate action by the account holder.
