Could location data be inaccurate?¶

Yes. Every mobile location is an estimate whose error depends on method, environment, device state and timestamp meaning.

Error differs by source¶

Satellite positioning degrades indoors or around reflected signals; Wi-Fi depends on mapped access points; cell-site data gives broad areas. Apps can retain stale or last-known positions. Decimal precision does not guarantee real-world accuracy.

Test quality and time¶

Preserve source, stated accuracy and whether the timestamp means calculation, storage or synchronisation. Compare movement for impossible jumps and correlate GPS, Wi-Fi, cellular, media, CCTV and transactions without forcing agreement.
