What should I ask the device-account provider for?¶

Ask focused questions about the ecosystem account's linked devices, security, backups, synchronisation and remote actions.

Choose records by purpose¶

Device linkage may require registration, identifiers and trusted-device history. Backup questions need source device, dates and restore activity. Compromise calls for logins, password and recovery changes. Location, lock and erase enquiries need the initiating session and event details.

Keep account and handset distinct¶

Use exact provider account IDs and periods and preserve through approved routes where necessary. Some content belongs to an app or handset rather than the ecosystem provider. Family, workplace and shared devices mean the account holder may not be the physical user.
