What does recovered mean in a mobile extraction?¶
It means the examination found or reconstructed data outside a straightforward active artefact; the term describes a forensic route more than a user's action.
Identify the recovery source¶
Material may come from a database journal or unused page, cache, thumbnail, backup, damaged file, low-level area or carved fragment. Some was deleted, while some is an earlier version or automatically generated copy. Establish source path, structure and method rather than substituting “deleted”.
Limit the finding to surviving context¶
A recovered message may retain text and time but lose account or direction; a photograph may lose metadata. Match identifiers, conversations, participant records or provider evidence where possible, and group duplicate traces of the same event. Do not fill absent fields by assumption.
