What is the difference between an extraction, a reader report and an analyst's summary?¶

The extraction is acquired source data, the reader report is a processed review package, and the analyst's summary is a human selection and explanation of findings.

Each layer supports different work¶

The extraction enables specialist examination, reprocessing and validation. A reader organises parsed artefacts for searching, filtering, tagging and export but may be scoped or filtered. A summary explains methods, limitations and material conclusions without reproducing the full dataset.

Identify what you actually received¶

Ask which files are source acquisitions, which are derived packages, what selections were applied, whether a separate examiner report exists and who retains the full extraction. Searching a reader does not necessarily search everything acquired, while omission from a task-focused summary does not prove absence from the data.
