What should I do when mobile evidence conflicts with another account?¶

Preserve both sources, define the exact disagreement and test whether they describe the same event, time and perspective before choosing between them.

Align the propositions¶

A witness may recall reading while a provider times delivery; a file time may mark import rather than creation; a map record may be a searched destination rather than position. Record source, artefact path, timestamp basis and settings, then compare event definitions and use ranges where memory or system precision differs.

Test both sources fairly¶

Check parser support, record state, clock and synchronisation, and seek source or provider validation where material. Assess the human opportunity to observe, contemporaneity, consistency and possible memory error without assuming deception. Contradictory evidence should challenge the preferred explanation rather than be filtered out.
