Why might two reports from the same device contain different information?¶

They may derive from different acquisitions, device states, parser versions, processing options or report selections.

Compare workflow histories¶

One report may use logical data and another a later file-system acquisition, or add backup/cloud sources. Between acquisitions an active phone can receive, sync, clean or encrypt data; lock state, restart and open apps affect access. The same acquisition can yield more after updated parser support or additional recovery settings.

Compare source before presentation¶

Date/category filters, bookmarks, hidden recovered items, media exclusion and time display can change a report without changing underlying data. Record exhibit, acquisition date/method, sources, tool/version, processing settings and package scope, then locate the disputed artefact in source files. More results do not automatically make the earlier report wrong.
