What is a business bank account?

A business account holds financial activity for an organisation or sole trader. Its legal name does not identify which director, employee, accountant or administrator performed an event.

Business controls create several user roles

Accounts can have signatories, online users, cards, permission levels and limits. One user may prepare a payment and another approve it, producing distinct audit events. Misuse, compromise or action outside formal authority can add further routes.

Join bank and organisational records

Preserve holder entity, authorised users, permissions, card allocations, endpoints, logins and approval records. Establish the organisation's payment process and compare bank data with accounting systems, invoices, email, internal messages, orders and devices.

Receipt by the account does not mean every officer benefited; payment from it does not prove organisational knowledge. Report legal holder, actual operator, authority and ultimate beneficiary separately.

The point to remember

Map business-account roles and approval events before attributing a transaction to the organisation or any individual within it.
