What can billing information prove?¶
Billing information proves what name, address or contact data a payment or account recorded. It does not by itself identify who entered or used it.
Correct details can still be copied¶
Values may come from issuer data, manual entry or saved profile. Offenders can know a victim's address, and family or employees can legitimately share it. Matches support consistency, not identity; mismatches can reflect moves, business addresses or stale data.
Establish source and user¶
Preserve exact fields, account, time and origin and any address-verification result and definition. Compare delivery, account access, endpoint, communications and provider customer records.
Report supplied or recorded billing details rather than naming the purchaser unless wider evidence supports attribution.

Use billing information as linking and verification data, while identifying the actual user through account, endpoint and fulfilment records.
