What can delivery information prove?¶

Delivery records can establish dispatch, destination, carrier events or collection. They do not automatically prove who paid, received or retained the goods.

Delivery status has several stages¶

Records may include name, address, contacts, instructions, tracking, carrier time and proof, plus rerouting, failure, return or collection. Signatures can be unclear, photographs show placement rather than later collection, and carrier status is a system event.

The named recipient can differ from purchaser; family, workplaces, lockers and unauthorised addresses are possible.

Connect order to recipient¶

Preserve full order and carrier records with changes and stable IDs. Obtain collection time, staff, identification and CCTV where relevant. Compare account access, endpoint, communications, location and possession.

Report dispatch, delivery location, collection and actual recipient separately.
