Could one card or bank account fund several wallets?¶
Yes. One external source can fund several provider accounts, which may have common or separate controllers.
Bank records may not identify the internal destination¶
Families and businesses can share funding legitimately, while offenders can spread compromised funds across new wallets. The issuer may show repeated provider charges without the receiving internal account; the payment service holds that mapping.
Map every linked wallet¶
Preserve external transaction reference, descriptor, amount, time and masked source. Ask provider which wallet received it, when the source was linked and which account, endpoint and session created the link.
Compare wallets for contacts, devices, recipients and withdrawals. Common funding is not conclusive common control, but repeated links from a compromised source can be significant.
The point to remember
Map each wallet linked to the funding source and use provider and endpoint evidence to test whether their controllers are common or separate.
