What records might an online payment provider hold?¶
An online payment provider may hold customer, account, transaction, funding, access and security records beyond the history visible to the user or linked bank.
Different datasets answer different questions¶
Account records can identify internal IDs, handles, contacts, verification and linked instruments. Transaction data can show counterpart accounts, amounts, currencies, fees, status changes, refunds, internal transfers, withdrawals and provider references.
Access and security data may contain endpoints, sessions, IP-related records, authentication, recovery, contact changes, risk alerts and restrictions. Support contacts and payout destinations can add further context.
Request identifiers and status meaning¶
Preserve every known user, handle and transaction ID, linked instrument, contact and relevant date range. Ask what each timestamp and status means and how internal events map to external funding or payout.
Registration, access, value movement and personal attribution remain separate conclusions. Provider verification at opening does not prove who performed a later transaction.
The point to remember
Use the provider's full account, access, security and value-movement records rather than treating the visible transaction list as the complete evidence.
