How can I find out what a website looked like in the past?¶
Use web archives, provider backups, devices and third-party captures to reconstruct historic content, but record what each source actually preserved.
What to do¶
Check the exact URL and date range. Preserve archive URLs, capture dates and access dates. Corroborate incomplete or partial captures with provider records, screenshots, communications, local files and cached material.
