Can I prove somebody viewed a particular webpage?¶

A page request may show that a system contacted the URL. Stronger evidence is needed to show that a person saw or engaged with the page.

Evidence to consider¶

• exact URL in history;
• page title or cached content;
• scrolling or interaction;
• forms and downloads;
• screenshots;
• searches leading to the page;
• repeated access and surrounding messages.

Interpret the result carefully¶

Technical records may identify a service, account, device or request rather than the person responsible. Preserve exact dates, times and time zones, and test shared access, automation, compromise and changing infrastructure where relevant.
