Can I prove somebody managed a website account?¶
Platform records may establish that an account managed part of a website. They do not automatically identify the person using that account.
Evidence to consider¶
- administrator logins;
- changes to users and permissions;
- publishing, deletion and configuration activity;
- password resets and security events;
- support requests;
- access IPs and devices;
- communications and linked accounts.
Keep the conclusion precise¶
Accounts, IP addresses, devices and provider records may identify a technical or contractual relationship without identifying the individual responsible. Test shared access, delegated administration, automation, compromise and changes over time.
